Junhyeok Kil

I'm a first-year PhD student in Quantitative Methods at Purdue University, advised by Tongseok Lim.

I like to think about networks, especially their higher-order structure, using tools from probability and combinatorics. I'm particularly interested in applications in operations research and economics, such as resource pooling, sparse flexibility, and incentives in decentralized systems.

I graduated from Purdue in 2025 with a triple major B.S. in Data Science, Mathematics, and Statistics. During that time I spent two years working at the Composites Manufacturing & Simulation Center with Eduardo Barocio and Akshay Jacob Thomas on physics-informed machine learning and simulation optimization for additive manufacturing.

I was born in South Korea, grew up in Singapore, and now live in Indiana. Some things I do outside of research.
