Outside of research
A few books that stayed with me. I still come back to them from time to time and often end up talking about them with people. Many of them I read in 2021–2022, while serving in the Korean army.
I spend most of my listening time on classical, like Elgar's cello concerto, Saint-Saëns, and Chopin's études. I liked rock more in middle and high school, when I would try to play songs like Bon Jovi, Coldplay and Radiohead. These days I am increasingly listening to and discovering instrumentals and soundtracks.
Across genres, I keep being drawn to something unhurried, usually with a piano at its centre, that opens with grandness and builds until it feels much larger than where it began.
I used to make some myself when I was more passionate. A few tracks are still on SoundCloud.
This is a collection of pieces that I love, that I share with people around me, and that shaped me.
